Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Officer for Safeguarding (CS) at the G10 level to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safeguarding policies and practices to protect vulnerable individuals within our organization. You will act as the primary point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring that all incidents are managed with sensitivity and in accordance with best practices. Your expertise will be crucial in promoting a culture of safeguarding throughout the organization, and you will provide training and support to colleagues on safeguarding issues. You will collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders, including external agencies, to ensure the effective management of safeguarding matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safeguarding, a deep understanding of relevant legislation, and a passion for promoting the welfare and rights of individuals at risk. Responsibilities
Act as the Designated Officer for Safeguarding, providing guidance and support on safeguarding matters.
Develop, review, and implement safeguarding policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practices.
Receive, record, and respond to safeguarding concerns or allegations made by staff, clients, or external stakeholders.
Conduct investigations into safeguarding incidents as required, ensuring thorough and fair processes are followed.
Provide training and support to staff on safeguarding awareness, procedures, and best practices to promote a safeguarding culture.
Collaborate with external agencies, such as social services and law enforcement, to effectively address safeguarding issues and concerns.
Prepare and present safeguarding reports to management and relevant committees, highlighting trends and recommending improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in social work, child protection, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Proven experience working in safeguarding or a related area, with a strong understanding of safeguarding protocols.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines related to safeguarding and child protection.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate sensitive information effectively to various audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in managing complex cases.
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and build effective relationships across organizations.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about developments in safeguarding practices.
