Summary
Cathays High School is seeking a member of staff to join our highly successful Inclusion and Wellbeing Team in a multicultural high school, close to Cardiff city centre.
The team works in direct partnership with our Head of Year and Safeguarding team to enable all learners to attend school and make excellent progress. The key focus of the role is on improving attendance, punctuality and behaviour around the school, in lessons and during break and lunchtimes. Daily tasks will include first aid, phone calls home, family meetings, home visits, yard duties, staffing the on-call phone lines, engagement walks, restorative meetings and admin tasks in support of the Head of Year.
The team also contributes to safeguarding our most vulnerable learners in their day-to-day duties but also by attending child protection conferences, core groups, care and support plan meetings and children who are looked after reviews on behalf of the DSP. The job will also include signposting to support services and making referrals to external agencies.
Cathays High School has very strong systems for the professional development and support of all staff and especially those new to the profession. We also have an excellent record of helping ambitious and hard-working staff to make rapid career progression within our community.
The school expects all staff to participate actively in supporting the principles and practice of equality and Opportunities for All as laid down in the school’s policy. We also expect all staff to follow our core behaviours of ‘Collaboration, Ownership and Team First ’.
If you would like to make a difference to the lives, and life chances, of young people in our inclusive, caring and successful school please apply by completing the application form by midday on Tuesday 12th February. You must be registered or willing to register with the EWC.
If you would like any further information, please contact Mrs Natasha Jones (Assistant Headteacher).
We look forward to hearing from you.
