Summary
About Dimensions
Choose a career that grows with you. At Dimensions, our Career Development & Progression means you'll receive award-winning training, including Aspire and Dimensions Academy, to build real skills and move forward. With us, you won't just do a support role, you'll develop as a professional in a values-driven charity, where your growth matters just as much as the lives you change.
About the Role
- Support Worker - Edgware, London (N14)
- Full-Time - 37.5 Hours per Week
- Full UK driving licence essential.
You'll be joining a supported living home in Edgware, close to Canons Park. Here, you'll support three gentlemen under 40, all of whom have learning disabilities and autism. Family involvement is a big part of life in this home, so you'll work in partnership with relatives to ensure everyone feels connected and supported.
From horse riding and sailing to music events, discos, swimming, and train rides, these gentlemen love to stay busy and engaged. You'll help make these experiences possible, driving their automatic vehicles to get to their hobbies, supporting with mobility (all three use wheelchairs), and providing hands-on support when needed. Personal care is part of the role, but it's about dignity and encouragement, helping each person feel confident and respected. You'll also prepare meals following SALT guidelines, assist with feeding, and create a safe, structured environment that promotes independence.
This is a role for someone who thrives on variety and values teamwork. You'll work long day shifts (8am-10pm) to fit around the busy schedule, with no waking nights required. Communication is key, one gentleman uses limited words and some Makaton signs, while others don't communicate using words, so patience is essential.
About You
You'll share our values, bringing them to life in everything you do. You'll be passionate about supporting people to live life their way, with patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusion. You'll understand the importance of person-centred support and be confident in following detailed support plans and routines.
You'll have the resilience to manage busy days, the flexibility to adapt to changing needs, and the creativity to communicate effectively, whether that's using clear language, active listening, or Makaton signs. You'll be reliable, proactive, and ready to work as part of a team.
