Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 18+ Leaving Care Personal Advisor to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will play a crucial part in guiding and supporting young adults as they transition from care to independent living. Your purpose will be to empower these individuals, providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and advice to navigate their new-found independence. This position requires a person-centered approach, understanding the unique challenges faced by young adults leaving care, including emotional, educational, and financial hurdles. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders including local authorities, educational institutions, and community organizations to ensure that our young adults are well supported. By building trusting relationships with your clients, you will help them develop vital life skills, explore employment and educational opportunities, and access essential services. The role is both challenging and gratifying, as you will witness significant personal growth in the young adults you assist. Your expertise will make a lasting impact, helping them thrive in a world full of possibilities. Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one support and guidance to young adults aged 18+ who are leaving care.
Assist clients in developing individualized plans for their transition to independent living.
Help young adults navigate housing options, budgeting, and financial management.
Connect clients with educational and employment resources, including job training programs and internship opportunities.
Facilitate life skills workshops to enhance personal development and self-sufficiency.
Act as an advocate for clients in various settings including schools, job centers, and healthcare facilities.
Monitor and evaluate clients' progress and adjust support plans as needed.
Requirements
A minimum of a relevant degree or equivalent experience in social work, counseling, or a related field.
Experience working with young people, especially those in care or with similar backgrounds.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young adults transitioning from care to independence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with young clients.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and partner organizations.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young adults.

Pay Per Hour: £15.49
