Summary
Leadership & Decision-Making Act as the medical team lead during on-call periods, coordinating patient flow from admission to transfer or discharge. Work closely with nursing, allied health professionals, and other specialties to ensure patient safety and continuity of care. Contribute to clinical governance, morbidity and mortality reviews, and root cause analyses where applicable. Quality Improvement & Audit Participate in and, where appropriate, lead audits and service improvement projects in rotation specialties. Engage in evidence-based practice, applying up-to-date clinical guidelines in decision-making. Administrative Duties Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in both paper and electronic records. Complete discharge summaries, clinic letters, and investigation requests promptly. Manage clinic follow-up arrangements and inter-specialty referrals.
