OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Reporting to: Operations Manager
Location/Base: South Luffenham, based in the office

Salary:35-41k

Hours: Mon - Fri, between 8.30-5.30 (8.30-5 or 9-5.30 - has to be flexible)



ROLE PURPOSE & SCOPE

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of a busy operational environment. This key role is responsible for the scheduling, coordination and supervision of drivers, production, warehouse and workshop teams, as well as contractors, crew and agency staff.

You will ensure the efficient planning and delivery of internal and external operations, maintaining high service standards while responding effectively to changing priorities. This role suits a confident problem-solver who performs well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General

Act as an ambassador for the organisation, consistently promoting company values and standards.

Be available to work weekends and out-of-hours when business needs require.

Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others affected by your actions.

Comply with all company and statutory fire, health and safety regulations.

Provide support to other areas of the business, including sales and wider group activities, where required.

Be responsible for cost capture, invoicing and operational reporting.

Operational & Scheduling

Plan, schedule and manage logistics for operational teams, working closely with the Operations Manager and Transport Manager.

Manage diaries and schedules for drivers, production teams, warehouse staff and fleet technicians.

Book and coordinate contractors, agency workers and support staff as required.

Adjust schedules dynamically to accommodate last-minute changes and ensure continuity of service.

Provide day-to-day supervision of operational departments, including Managed Contracts and Projects.

Act as a key point of contact for operational staff, including out-of-hours support.

Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency and teamwork across departments.

Work closely with internal teams (Commercial, Projects, Managed Contracts and Production) to anticipate upcoming requirements and identify potential pinch points.

Ensure labour and resources are allocated efficiently and make commercial sense.

Provide weekly operational updates to senior management, highlighting risks, staffing challenges and operational issues.

Ensure all operational changes are clearly communicated to relevant teams.

Maintain meeting rhythms and produce weekly reports for team meetings, meeting regularly with the Operations Manager to share updates and required information.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:

Strong understanding of event logistics, transport coordination and diary management.

Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.

Calm, decisive and solutions-focused under pressure.

Proven experience supervising or leading teams.

Desirable:

Knowledge or understanding of commercial driving regulations and driver hours.
