We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Band 6 Junior Charge Nurse to join our dynamic and fast-paced Emergency Department team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced emergency nurse looking to develop strong leadership skills while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

In this role, you will provide clinical leadership on shift, support junior staff, and help ensure the efficient and safe delivery of emergency services. You will act as a positive role model, championing best practice, promoting a culture of safety, and contributing to ongoing service improvement.

The successful candidate will have proven emergency care experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. To provide safe, efficient and high-quality individualised care to clients across a wide range of specialities within the Emergency Department. Provide primary education, health advice and promotion to constitute a safe effective discharge to enable client self-care on discharge. To supervise & facilitate the education, training and development needs of both registered, unregistered staff and students. Ensure all care is inclusive, equitable and is provided within the Trust and Local Unit Policies.

We’re proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We’re also part of theNorth East London Cancer Alliance.

We run aWomen’s Health Hub in Ilford; anAgeing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) atBarking Community Hospital and atSt George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The majority of our 8,400 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.
