Summary
As a Principal Project Manager, you will play a key role in Chelmsford City Council’s involvement in Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution programmes, as well as leading the delivery of complex digital projects. The successful applicant will manage multiple projects to time, budget and quality standards from inception to delivery, ensuring strong governance, effective change control and adherence to council policies. Additionally, representing the Council across programme workstreams, influencing senior stakeholders, helping shape new governance and service structures, championing agile delivery and project management best practice are key responsibilities of the position.
Proven experience of delivering complex projects with the ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on delivery, clear communication and strong organisational skills are essential to being successful in this role. Applicants should have a strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and excellent stakeholder management skills. Ideally, the successful applicant will hold a recognised project management qualification, but it is not an essential requirement.
