Summary

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding part-time role supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Look no further! Our client, a highly-regarded educational institution in Wigan, Greater Manchester, is seeking a dedicated and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with SEND, working closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualised support to students, adapting learning materials, and implementing strategies to help them achieve their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans for students with SEND
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students access the curriculum and engage in learning activities
- Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to meet individual student needs
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation, policies, and best practices
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
