A well-regarded and forward-thinking secondary school in Islington is seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Maths Tutor to join its Maths department. This role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about mathematics and motivated to gain first-hand experience in a school setting before progressing into teacher training.
About the Role
As a Graduate Maths Tutor, you will play a key role in supporting students’ academic development and confidence in Mathematics. Working closely with experienced Maths teachers, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Providing targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to students across KS3 and KS4
• Supporting pupils who need additional help with core mathematical concepts
• Assisting teachers during lessons to ensure students remain engaged and supported
• Delivering structured intervention sessions to boost attainment and exam readiness
• Monitoring student progress and contributing to feedback and assessment where appropriate
• Helping to create a positive and focused learning environment within the Maths department
This is a hands-on, rewarding role that offers an authentic insight into teaching and life in a secondary school.
Who We’re Looking For
• A 2:1 degree or above in Mathematics or a closely related subject
• A genuine enthusiasm for education and a strong desire to work with young people
• Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional, proactive, and committed approach
• Previous school-based experience is welcome but not essential
