Description
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Business Support Officer to join our Planning, Transportation & Environment team at Grade D/E. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating the effective functioning of our department, which is dedicated to the planning and management of transportation services and environmental initiatives. As a Business Support Officer, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and in alignment with departmental goals. Your responsibilities will include supporting project coordination, managing schedules, handling correspondence, and maintaining accurate records. In addition, you will play a key part in the communication between team members and stakeholders, helping to foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and efficiency. We are looking for a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and is able to prioritize tasks effectively. Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Planning, Transportation & Environment team.
Coordinate meetings, events, and workshops, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively.
Prepare reports, presentations, and documents for departmental meetings and projects.
Manage schedules and timelines for ongoing projects, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and deadlines.
Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to transportation and environmental initiatives.
Maintain and update departmental records, databases, and filing systems.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project collaboration and information sharing.
Requirements
Proven experience in a business support or administrative role, preferably within a public sector environment.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Familiarity with project management principles and practices is a plus.
A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is desirable, but not essential.
