Description
The Principal Planner (Gr J)* is a pivotal role in shaping the future development and land use strategies of our community. Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and presentation of comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, and land use regulations.
Conduct detailed analyses of planning issues and trends to inform strategic decision-making.
Manage multiple planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
Facilitate community engagement initiatives to gather public input and support for planning initiatives.
Coordinate with external stakeholders, including developers, government agencies, and community organizations, to encourage collaboration on planning projects.
Review and assess development applications, ensuring compliance with regulations and community goals.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior planners and staff, fostering professional development and teamwork.
Requirements
Master's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in urban or regional planning.
Strong knowledge of zoning laws, land use planning, and environmental regulations.
Proficiency in GIS software and other planning tools and technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £38.09
