Summary
The Hays senior finance interim & contracts team are supporting a valued public sector client with the appointment of an Interim Assistant Chief Accountant on a long-term assignment (minimum 12 months, January 2026 to potentially March 2028).
We're looking for a qualified accountant with strong local government experience who can support the full financial remit:
- Accounts preparation
- Quarterly budget monitoring
- Government returns
- Audit queries
- Budget setting
- Business cases & financial implications reviews
Key Details: - Day Rate: £500-£600 per day (flexible for the right person)
- Hybrid Working: 1-2 days per week on-site (free parking)
- Interviews: As early as next Friday
- Start: This month
