Summary
Step into a position where your expertise genuinely shapes patient care. This is an opportunity to join a vibrant, forward‑thinking Women & Children’s Directorate at a time of growth and innovation. If you’re passionate about delivering exceptional clinical pharmacy services and want to make a real impact across women’s, neonatal and paediatric care, this role offers the perfect platform.
With the recent re-designation of our neonatal service from a Level 1 Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) to a Level 2 Local Neonatal Unit (LNU) — a significant milestone that reflects both the growth in activity at our site and our commitment to delivering high‑quality care closer to home for local families — this is a truly exciting time to join our team. This transformation has opened up new opportunities to shape this brand‑new role and influence how our pharmacy service develops across Women & Children’s care.
You’ll be at the heart of a specialist service that plays a key role in women’s health and paediatrics. Your clinical insight will directly influence the safe, effective and evidence‑based use of medicines across the Directorate.
The post holder will provide and manage pharmaceutical services to the Women & Children Directorate in accordance with the needs of the Division. Along with working with senior clinicians on determining medicines related cost pressures for the Women & Children Directorate. The post holder will also monitor and review prescribing practice within the Women & Children Directorate and to work with clinicians to ensure effective, safe, evidence based and cost effective prescribing.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of England's top-performing and safest trusts. We operate two main acute hospital sites—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—along with award-winning clinics across North West London.
Our nearly 7,500 staff care for a diverse population of 1.5 million, providing full clinical services, including maternity, A&E, and children’s services, plus specialist HIV and sexual health clinics. The Care Quality Commission rates us 'Good' in safety, effectiveness, care, and responsiveness, and 'Outstanding' in leadership and resource use.
We continually invest in our facilities, including a £30m expansion of critical care at Chelsea and Westminster and an £80m Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex.
We welcome applications for flexible working arrangements, accommodating requests where possible to support our staff and patient needs.
The Trust is committed to equality and welcomes applications from all, regardless of background. Adjustments can be made for disabled candidates. Early application is advised as vacancies may close once sufficient applications are received. If you haven’t heard from us within three weeks of the closing date, your application was likely unsuccessful. Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period.
Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.
