Summary
The post holder will be expected to be competent in initial management of common Plastic Surgery emergencies including major burns (adult and paediatric), necrotising faciitis and operative management of basic hand trauma including tendon and nerve repairs. The fellow will be given the opportunity to do independent operating providing they have discussed this with the appropriate Consultant and providing it is not affecting the safe running of the Department. The candidate would also have the opportunity to attend 2 regional Microsurgical Teaching Days and regional cadaveric flap courses.The candidate would be responsible for collecting data and presenting yearly free flap audit at the department. Involvement in teaching, research and other audits is encouraged. During the time in the Department the candidate will be assigned a clinical supervisor/Educational supervisor.
