Summary

Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team

The Assessing Social Worker will work within the Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team to recruit, assess, and prepare prospective foster carers and Supported Lodging Hosts. The role involves completing high-quality fostering assessments, including Form F and specialist assessments, and delivering pre-approval training such as Skills to Foster.

The post holder will contribute to the recruitment and retention of foster carers through participation in duty rotas, outreach activity, marketing events, support groups, and training sessions. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues across the fostering service and other partner agencies to ensure assessments are completed in line with statutory requirements and best practice.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with post-qualification experience and a strong understanding of fostering legislation and guidance. The role requires excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills, along with the ability to manage complex situations professionally.

An Enhanced DBS clearance is required, and the role is subject to safer recruitment procedures.
