Summary

The Education, Employment and Training (EET) Adviser will work with care-experienced young people aged 17–25 to support them into education, employment, and training. The role sits within the Virtual School / Leaving Care service and contributes to the council’s statutory responsibilities to improve outcomes for looked-after children and care leavers.

The post holder will work directly with young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) or at risk of becoming NEET, providing tailored advice, guidance, and practical support. This includes helping young people identify appropriate opportunities, overcome barriers to participation, and sustain engagement in education, employment, or training.

The role involves close partnership working with social workers, personal advisers, education providers, training organisations, employers, and internal council teams. The EET Adviser will monitor progress, maintain accurate records, contribute to performance reporting, and support the development of programmes and initiatives aimed at improving EET outcomes for care-experienced young people.

The post holder must demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding, equality and inclusion, and the challenges faced by vulnerable young people, and be able to work creatively and proactively to achieve positive outcomes.

Essential requirement:
Candidates must hold GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

An Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
