Summary

The Estate Services Coordinator is responsible for ensuring council estates are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, safety, security, and appearance. The role involves the day-to-day management and supervision of a team of caretakers, ensuring estate services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with council policies and procedures.

The post holder will monitor and manage services including cleaning, waste and recycling, grounds maintenance, communal repairs, estate lighting, and fire safety. This includes carrying out regular estate inspections, following up on remedial actions, and ensuring all health and safety requirements and fire safety checks are completed within agreed timescales.

The role requires close collaboration with internal council teams and external partners such as repairs services, tenancy management, community safety, police, and contractors to resolve issues, respond to emergencies, and address complex estate-related matters including antisocial behaviour.

The Estate Services Coordinator will respond to enquiries, complaints, and correspondence from residents, councillors, MPs, and other stakeholders, providing clear, timely, and professional responses. The role also involves working with Tenant and Residents Associations, Tenant Management Organisations, and attending evening meetings where required.

The post holder must manage resources effectively, maintain accurate records using council IT systems, ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and health and safety legislation, and contribute to service improvement and policy development. Weekend working on a rota basis and full on-site presence in the borough are required.

Strong people management skills, experience in estate or frontline services, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment are essential.
