Summary
We are looking for
A motivated person with keen attention to detail to manage the operations of the hopper/dressing room to ensure continuous supply of product to the grader line. This person should also have a forklift licence.
Working hours 5.00pm - 5.30am covering a 4on, 4off shift pattern
The position
• Actively monitor productivity on the grading line and ensure the line is operating as efficiently as possible
• Continuously oversee grading team performance to ensure optimal line efficiency
• Monitor grader beds and blades, ensuring they are cleaned, replaced when necessary, and correctly recorded in maintenance logs
• Uphold high hygiene and housekeeping standards within the grading facility, adhering to “clean as you go” practices
• Work alongside the Production Technician Supervisor and Production Technician Engineer to achieve the highest product quality after grading
• Regulate orange bands to maintain smooth product flow and prevent damage to onions during processing
• Comply fully with all health and safety procedures for forklift truck operation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including forklift safety checks, labour records, rejects, and product scanning
• Carry out basic forklift upkeep such as cleaning and checking fluid levels, fuel, and tyre pressure
• Ensure a steady supply of stock to the grader by operating the forklift efficiently and proactively
• Promptly report any forklift issues to the appropriate supervisor
• Organise and stack bins, pallets, and trays safely, neatly, and within designated storage limits
• Operate the forklift responsibly, securing loads and remaining vigilant to avoid harm to personnel, buildings, and equipment
The perfect candidate
• Valid counterbalance forklift licence
• Capable of lifting heavy items and performing physically demanding tasks as needed
• Skilled at assessing weights, distances, and heights accurately
• Strong attention to detail to uphold quality standards
• Proactive mindset with effective problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable working in a range of temperatures depending on seasonal conditions
