An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring and enthusiastic, Registered Band 5 nurse to join our friendly and hardworking team within the Diabetes and Endocrine Unit at St George’s University Hospital.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and skills in caring for patients with both Diabetes and Endocrine conditions. Applicants must possess acute skills in caring for patients admitted to hospital with diabetes, excellent communication skills; have a flexible working approach and a willingness to work as part of a forward thinking team.

As skills and competencies develop, they will be expected to actively participate in and contribute to the day to day activities of the department by supervising, supporting and mentoring students and HCA’s and assisting with the Flash Glucose monitoring (Free Style Libre)

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of 1.3 million across southwest London. A large number of services, such as cardiothoracic medicine and surgery, neurosciences and renal transplantation, also cover significant populations from Surrey and Sussex, totalling around 3.5 million people.

The trust also provides care for patients from a larger catchment area in southeast England, for specialties such as complex pelvic trauma. Other services treat patients from all over the country, such as family HIV care and bone marrow transplantation for non-cancer diseases. The trust also provides a nationwide state-of-the-art endoscopy training centre.
