Summary
An opportunity has arisen to join a new team supporting the Radiology Department at Broomfield Hospital site.
We are looking to expand our support team to assist in the transfer of patients and equipment across the Trust. You will be an integral member of the Radiology team enabling patients to be scanned in a timely manner with a view to improving the flow of patients within the hospital.
The job is physical in nature and includes the transportation of patients by wheelchair, patient trolley or bed, internally and externally. You will be working with patients so experience of working in a service environment is needed and requires good communication skills.
These posts offer the benefit from flexibility as they offer a variety of shifts including earlies, lates, mid-day responsibilities and weekends.

• To undertake all patient support tasks, as requested by manager of the day, superintendents and managers.
• To undertake all urgent adhoc and scheduled tasks using the correct equipment within the required response times and in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
• To maintain good hygiene practices in the tasks performed as per infection control procedures.
• To observe Health & Safety regulations at all times.
• To attend staff induction and training and an annual appraisal interview.
• To ensure that service user complaints and incidents are referred to either Manager of the Day or Superintendent in charge in a timely manner.

• To ensure the transportation equipment is kept clean and in working order, and to report any defects to the Supervisor / Manager to be rectified as quickly as possible.
• To transport patients as per Departmental and Trust procedures, with due regard to their privacy, dignity and respect.
• To maintain a smart appearance at all times, wearing the allocated uniform, including safety clothing footwear and gloves as provided at all times when on duty. To report to Superintendent / Manager if and when any of these items become damaged.
• To provide portering support in the event of major incident or other site emergency as directed.
• To work as part of a team and be flexible in approach to duties in order to cover annual leave and sickness, noting that the postholder will be required to work Bank Holidays as rostered and that annual leave will not be granted over Bank Holiday periods.
• To complete activity sheets with appropriate details or as instructed by the Departmental Supervisor.
