Summary
This is a clinically driven post, which requires the post holder to be knowledgeable, confident and expert practitioner in all levels of neonatal care. The philosophy of the neonatal unit is to give high standards of care nursing and medical care providing optimum opportunity for growth and development of the sick and preterm infant using family integrated care approach.
You will as a member of the multidisciplinary team:
Ensure that all staff have access to training and education which supports them to develop neonatal skills and competencies.
Contribute to both formal and informal teaching commitments, including ward-based simulation and clinical teaching, working alongside staff.
Promote a positive culture of patient safety, providing a visible presence that focuses on high quality care standard, preventing harm by analysing and interpreting trends, lessons learnt and best evidence to support the development of positive safety culture.
Use a diversity of clinical, professional, educational and management skills to support the delivery of better patient care and outcomes.
Support effective patient safety and governance by communicating good practice and promoting clinical audit and use of evidence based multi-professional standards.
