Summary

The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Registered Manager to lead Oaktree House, a newly established 2-bed children’s home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) located in Slough.

This role is ideal for:
• An experienced Registered Manager seeking a supportive, values-driven organisation, or
• A Deputy Manager with the right experience, ambition, and leadership qualities who is ready to step up with full organisational support.



The Role

As Registered Manager, you will have full responsibility for:
• The day-to-day management of the home
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Leading, developing, and supporting a skilled staff team
• Ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
• Delivering high-quality, therapeutic care and positive outcomes

You will be supported by an experienced Responsible Individual and leadership team committed to excellence.



Key Responsibilities
• Lead and embed a therapeutic, child-centred culture
• Ensure the home meets and exceeds Ofsted regulatory requirements
• Oversee care planning, risk management, and outcomes tracking
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding practice
• Lead safer recruitment and staff development
• Ensure effective supervision, reflective practice, and performance management
• Develop strong working relationships with local authorities and partner agencies
• Lead on quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement
• Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections confidently

Essential Requirements
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
(or working towards, with a clear completion plan)
• Significant experience working in children’s residential care
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and practice
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to meet Ofsted Registered Manager suitability requirements
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)



Desirable
• Experience managing or deputising in a children’s home
• Experience working with EBD and trauma-impacted children
• DDP / PACE or trauma-informed training
• Experience leading services through Ofsted inspections
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and regulatory compliance
