Summary

Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Five Aspen Ltd

Five Aspen Ltd is seeking a motivated, resilient, and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the leadership and day-to-day running of one of our children’s homes.

This is a key role supporting the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, while ensuring the home operates in line with its Statement of Purpose, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.

Role Details
• Reporting to: Registered Manager
• Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
• Working Pattern: Flexible (office hours and shift work, including on-call)



Key Responsibilities
• Support the Registered Manager in the safe, effective management of the home
• Lead and supervise staff on shift and manage the home in the Manager’s absence
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding requirements
• Support care planning, risk assessments, and keywork delivery
• Contribute to staff recruitment, supervision, training, and rota planning
• Promote a positive, child-centred, trauma-informed culture
• Participate in on-call duties and multi-agency working



Essential Requirements
• Level 3/4 qualification in Children & Young People or Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• Willingness to work towards Level 5 Leadership & Management
• Experience working in children’s residential care with challenging behaviour
• Experience supervising or leading staff
• Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding
• Resilient, organised, and confident leader



Desirable
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management
• Experience of Ofsted inspections
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and attachment-based practice
