Summary

A Vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic team, providing dietetic care to service users within Mental Health facilities.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic dietitian to work within The CYP Division. We are looking for ability to adapt and transferable dietetic skills to meet our service priority of ensuring the nutrition and hydration needs of our inpatients are adequately met, and to work in partnership with a range of services to promote improved physical health for people with Mental Health conditions at different stages of their recovery.

Our team is supportive, innovative and provides strong links with the wider MDT and local services. We are committed to professional and personal development, and are committed to displaying the Trust values in the work that we do.

The successful post holder will work with the SEDS Lead dietitian and dietetic colleagues supporting our citywide Eating Disorder Service. They will be responsible for the provision of a specialist, evidence based dietetic service for children and young people with eating disorders, and their families with a focus on the intensive pathway within SEDS.

Applicants must have a dietetic qualification to at least degree level, and be HCPC Registered. They will have post registration experience of providing assessment and treatment for patients with eating disorders, including refeeding protocols and evidence of CPD.

The post holder will be required to have a high level of communication skills, both written and verbal, be compassionate, respectful and value individual patient needs. They will have the ability to recognise and manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner (this may be clinic based or in the home), be resilient and emotionally intelligent and engage positively with children, young adults and families. An excellent working knowledge of child protection and adult safeguarding issues and processes for the age range 0-25 is essential.
