We are looking for a dynamic and innovative speech and language therapist to join our team on the regional Inpatient Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (INRU). The team comprises of speech & language therapists, physiotherapists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, doctors, nurses, rehabilitation assistants, admin staff and skilled support staff all working together to achieve the best outcomes for our patients. You must enjoy working within an interdisciplinary team and be passionate about supporting adults with complex acquired neurological conditions to achieve their goals.
The post holder will be expected to provide assessment and treatment for patients with a variety of speech, language and swallowing needs as a result of complex neurological conditions. The caseload includes management of patient’s with tracheostomies and therefore support will be provided to complete RCSLT tracheostomy competencies. We are a progressive, expanding service with great ambition with a focus on delivering high quality patient centered care to our local communities. With this in mind it is an exciting time for the speech and language therapy team as we set up our in house FEES service, with all team members receiving CPD and supervision to support with this.
Additional responsibilities include keyworking, supervision and support for more junior speech and language therapists, students and support staff/assistants. Excellent communication skills and flexibility are therefore essential.

You will also have the opportunity to gain competencies relating to management of tracheostomy and assessment of FEES.
