Summary


The post holder will provide a comprehensive, efficient, and effective medical secretary service to the Consultants and medical team within the Care Group.
• Diary management for the consultant and members of the medical team including all aspects of meeting bookings and MDT meetings and ensure consultants and members of the medical team are fully prepared for meetings.
• Complete minutes of daily PIPA meetings, MDT, and any other meetings as and when required.
• Typing of reports specific to service area, typing of letters to GPs, other general correspondence, and clinic sessions, Audio typing of consultant/medical correspondence.
• Follow up information requests and test results.
• Dealing with telephone calls from patients, signposting appropriately, and updating the consultants and others message books accordingly
• Source information on referrals as requested.
• Type up the monthly doctor’s rota.
• Filing, photocopy, and SystmOne scanning of information into medical records.
• Deal with telephone enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, recording messages as per agreed systems and escalating as per protocols.
• Input data and collate statistics as required using appropriate methods such as SystmOne reporting.
• Book meeting rooms as required.
• Book interpreters as required.
• Proactively contribute ideas for improving the planning of service
activities and/or administrative/clerical systems
