What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Data Engineering Design & Delivery (Practitioner) - You can design and oversee the implementation of complex, enterprise-scale data processes and ETL pipelines, translating complex customer requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
- Data Standards & Governance (Expert) - You have deep expertise in establishing and maintaining data engineering standards across teams, ensuring adherence to organisational and community standards for consistency and compliance.
- Problem Solving & Incident Management (Practitioner) - You can lead investigations into complex data issues, including ETL pipeline failures and platform-level problems, applying solutions that consider strategic, tactical, and operational impacts.
You and your role
We're looking for a Senior IT Asset Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for managing all software and associated hardware assets across DWP. This is a fast-paced, strategic role where you'll oversee compliance, data integrity, and relationships with major publishers. You'll use your leadership skills to drive continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring our asset management processes deliver maximum value.
In this role, you'll set and implement asset strategies, manage renewals, and ensure adherence to policy and governance standards. You'll analyse large datasets to inform decisions, provide actionable insights, and maintain accurate asset data across the estate. You'll also lead corrective actions for non-compliance, champion automation and efficiency, and support the adoption of new technologies to improve processes.
As a senior leader, you'll coach and mentor your team, promote collaboration, and foster a high-performance culture. You'll work closely with stakeholders to balance risk, value, and compliance, while driving strategic improvements across the organisation.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of £57,946
Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
