Nursery Teaching Assistant Level 2 (SEND Support)
Fixed Term to 31st August 2026
Grade 3 pt 6-11
18 hours per week, 8.30am to 3.30pm, Wednesday to Friday
Term time only plus 3 days per year (39 weeks)

The Governors of Bare Trees Primary School are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our warm and welcoming school nursery to support children with SEND. This is a wonderful opportunity to support young children at a crucial stage of their development within a nurturing and stimulating environment.

You will work closely with the Early Years team and SENDCo to support children with SEND aged 3 to 4, helping them to learn, grow, and thrive through play-based activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Assist with planning and delivering engaging activities
  • Provide individual and small-group support
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Support children with personal care routines where required
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents

Bare Trees is a large primary school with strong links to the local community. We work immensely hard to ensure our children have a range of experiences in a stimulating environment and provide a curriculum which inspires and engages whilst ensuring children develop the skills and knowledge needed to prepare them for their next phases in life.

We are looking for someone who;

  • Is caring, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children
  • Has experience working in an early years or nursery setting (desirable)
  • Holds a relevant childcare qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3) or is willing to work towards one
  • Has good communication and teamwork skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
