Lead Surveyor – Shape the Future of UK InfrastructureAre you a seasoned Survey Lead ready to drive a unified, high-performing approach to topographical surveying? Sizewell C is seeking a dynamic professional to lead our newly established centralized survey team.About the RoleAs Survey Lead, you’ll manage and implement the centralized Sizewell C Survey Team, ensuring consistent, high-quality survey services across all phases of this nationally significant infrastructure project. You’ll head up ‘Team Survey’-a core group overseeing topographical surveying across multiple contracts and workforces.You’ll lead Senior Area Surveyors across three key workstreams.• Survey Control Team• Core Surveying Team• Specialist Survey Teams (including tunnelling, backfill, laser scanning, completion surveys, off-site surveys, and BIM)Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain the SZC Survey Strategy and Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDPs)Oversee all land and aerial survey operations, including control networks and monitoringEnsure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory standards (ONR, LC12, LC19)Manage survey data quality, equipment calibration, and as-built recordsCoordinate with contractors, stakeholders, and regulatorsLead recruitment, training, and performance managementApprove survey methods, calculations, and reportsConduct audits and manage non-conformancesPromote a strong safety and quality culture Tools & Technologies used:Survey data management and processing tools Geospatial data systems (e.g., GIS) Project CDE platformsSurvey Control Networks (PSN, SSN, LSN, RSN)What We’re Looking ForEssential:Proven leadership in managing teams in a large-scale infrastructure survey operationsStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAnalytical mindset with problem-solving capabilitiesDegree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related fieldChartered status (RICS or CICES)Proficiency in survey software and digital toolsDesirable:Experience with UAV/drone survey integrationFamiliarity with nuclear or regulated infrastructure projectsKnowledge of digital construction and geospatial data systemsProfessionals from Land/Building Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering sectors are encouraged to apply.
