Job Description:
We are seeking a Cleaning Services Auditor to join our Sodexo team at Merville Barracks, Colchester. This role is critical in ensuring service excellence, compliance with contractual requirements, and the consistent delivery of high cleaning standards.
The successful candidate will conduct service audits, raise and track corrective actions, liaise with clients and operational teams, and support health, safety, and quality compliance across the site. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels are essential.
What You’ll Do:
Audit & Compliance
Conduct and complete all service audits accurately and on time, in line with contractual requirements and Service Standard Statements.
Complete service audits using the IT system audit platform.
Adhere to monthly sampling timescales to ensure sufficient audit coverage.
Maintain objectivity and impartiality while auditing in line with policy and procedure.
Compile audit completion reports and submit them to the HSEQ team within agreed deadlines.
Produce trend analysis charts for repetitive failures when requested.
Corrective Actions & Reporting
Raise Improvement Reports highlighting areas of failure and communicate these for action.
Record, monitor, review, and follow up Improvement Reports, updating the central register.
Work closely with the Cleaning Services Manager to ensure agreed corrective actions are implemented.
Interface with managers and front-line employees to communicate audit outcomes clearly.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Interface with clients during accompanied audits, particularly where failures occur or results are contested.
Deliver Service Excellence to colleagues and clients at all times.
Health, Safety & Quality
Ensure compliance with HASWA (Health and Safety at Work Act).
Identify, highlight, and report health and safety issues encountered during audit activities.
Raise Near Misses through the appropriate reporting channels.
Complete Safety Walks and Safety Observations via the SALUS App as required.
Observe all Sodexo and/or Authority Health & Safety, Fire, Environmental, and QA policies and procedures.
Operational & Administrative Duties
Support additional auditing requirements including window cleaning, periodic cleans, racking inspections, and flushing records.
Cover absence within the cleaning department as required.
Be flexible to cover other areas within the Colchester PFI where there is a business need.
Carry out additional ad hoc duties as required.

Experience or knowledge of cleaning environments.
IT skills for data entry, including use of tablets, Android phones, and audit apps.
Desirable
