Summary
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaner/Caretaker to join our team, responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and locking up the premises at the end of the shift.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in janitorial work and a keen eye for detail, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff alike. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional setting where attention to detail and reliability are highly valued.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 16:00-18:00 during school term time only.
Rate of pay: £13.40 per hour
An Enhanced DBS Certificate is required for this role, this can be provided by the company upon signing a training agreement.
Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of designated areas.
Clean and sanitise restrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces to meet health and safety standards.
Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately, ensuring recycling protocols are followed.
Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any faults or shortages promptly.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or hazards.
Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed within scheduled timeframes to support operational efficiency.
Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning duties to management.
Requirements
Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety protocols.
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Physical fitness to perform cleaning duties, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Reliable with a professional attitude and excellent time management skills.
