Crynodeb
British Creative Institute (BCI) is expanding its operations across our faculties, including our growing presence in Walsall, and we’re now recruiting Governors (on-site/remote) to help guide the next stage of development.
This contract Governor opportunity offers the chance to provide strategic oversight, accountability, and constructive challenge—helping ensure learners are safe and progressing, provision remains high quality, and compliance, risk and resources are well managed. We’re particularly seeking expertise across: Safeguarding (Link Governor), SEND/Curriculum & Quality, Finance & Resources, Health & Safety/Premises, HR & Wellbeing, Compliance/GDPR & Risk, Therapies/SEMH & Pastoral, Careers/Employer Engagement, and Parent/Carer or Community Voice.
The commitment is clear and manageable: 3–6 board meetings per year, 3–4 committee meetings, and 1–3 link visits, with papers shared in advance. An Enhanced DBS, declaration of interests, and a commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and training are required.
Alongside this growth, we’re proud to introduce our new Culinary Faculty: More Food Buffet, 422 Kingstanding Rd, Birmingham, B44 9SA—a modern training restaurant designed to mirror real-world scenarios, serving the community (including projects supporting vulnerable groups) and building robust skills in restaurant service, customer care, baking and cooking. Learners will experience a range of job roles, including front-of-house host/server, cashier, kitchen porter, prep cook, commis chef, baker, and stock/clean-down duties.
You’re warmly invited to visit our faculties: Birmingham (Print & Graphics), Walsall (TV & Film/Media), and More Food Buffet (Culinary)—and if you’d like to support this work as a Governor, apply by 19 January 2026 via jobs@fastispeed.com.
