This Cambridge based organisation runs international residential summer study programs for students aged 14–18.
As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring all logistics, operations, excursions, transport and administrative processes are booked, adhere to health & safety guidelines, run smoothly and stay within budget, supporting a positive and memorable experience for all students.
You will work closely with the Program Director and senior leadership to coordinate with staff, external partners and third parties, ensuring clear communication and efficient planning throughout the summer 2026 programs.
Program Dates – Summer 2026 (Cambridge residency required):
Program Preparation Week: Monday 29th June – Saturday 4th July 2026
Friday 3rd July – Saturday 18th July 2026
Friday 17th July – Saturday 1st August 2026
Friday 24th July – Saturday 8th August 2026
Friday 31st July – Saturday 15th August 2026
Note: Compulsory Induction Training is included during the first Friday and Saturday of your program period. Applicants may apply for one, two, or all programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the first point of contact for operational needs outside of classroom activities, including excursions, meals, transport and scheduling.
Book all excursions, transport and external catering by set deadlines, manage these bookings within set budgets and coordinate logistical considerations with the Program Director.
Maintain an overview of the daily schedule and program logistics, ensuring updates and plans are communicated clearly to staff, students, and third parties.
Remain flexible and prepared to assist with urgent enquiries, changes, contingency plans and problem solving.
Ensure all staff are aware of and comply with day‑to‑day management, administrative, financial and operational procedures including safeguarding policies.
Skills & Attributes:
A keen eye for detail and excellent planning skills
Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal.
Strong organisation and operational management abilities.
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem‑solving capability.
Calm, adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure.
Experience & Knowledge:
Experience in a similar operations or logistics role (Desirable).
Previous experience on a summer school or residential program (Highly Desirable).
Previous experience working with young people (Essential).
Knowledge of Cambridge city, its colleges, and history (Essential).
Rate:
From £680/week based on experience + half-board accommodation.
Paid training takes place on the first Friday and Saturday.
For safeguarding purposes, an Enhanced DBS check is required for all staff and if living overseas a valid police clearance certificate is additionally required. Two professional references will also be required for all staff.
