Summary

Commissioning Engineer

Taunton, Somerset (TA1) | From £51,000 per annum | Full-time | Permanent

Introduction

Our client is a leading Engineering and Manufacturing company supplying specialised equipment to the Converting and Print Industries across the world. They are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in Taunton.

You will be responsible for commissioning machinery and training customers on its operation, working with associated equipment including auxiliary PLC control systems, motors, drives, and HMIs.

Key Duties
  • Commissioning and installing converting machinery.

  • Fault-finding, troubleshooting, and servicing electrical and control systems.

  • Working with auxiliary PLC control systems, motors, drives, and HMIs.

  • Training customers on machine operation and best practices.

  • Providing technical support in a customer-facing environment.

Requirements
  • Fully time-served Electrical Engineer.

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (preferred).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Willingness and eligibility to travel worldwide at short notice.

  • Valid passport and full UK driving licence.

  • Experience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLCs (advantageous).

  • Strong fault-finding and debugging skills.

  • Previous experience in a commissioning or similar engineering role (advantageous).
