We are seeking a dynamic Maternity Clinical Educator to provide leadership, support, and expertise in advancing clinical practice and education. This role focuses on mentoring newly qualified midwives, promoting innovative practices, and ensuring excellence in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and intrapartum care, in alignment with current evidence and national guidelines.

This role is to cover Maternity leave until the end of May 2026.

As part of the maternity education team, you will deliver expert training and guidance, collaborate with the senior midwifery team to implement evidence-based practice.

The Maternity Clinical Educator will lead in-service education programmes, provide specialised knowledge in intrapartum care, including adherence to NICE guidance and emergency management, and support the professional development of midwife preceptors through evaluation and mentorship. Additionally, the successful candidate will champion Barts Health values, fostering excellence through maternity practice initiatives and the "Great Expectations" programme.

This position is pivotal in enhancing professional development and maintaining exceptional care standards within maternity services.

Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.

The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation.
