What does this Senior Support Worker job involve?

The Senior Carer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensure service users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
• Supervise staff and ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service
• Support service users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community
• Monitor the wellbeing of each service user, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation, communicating updates to the registered nurse
• Be responsible for informing the nurse of any changes in the needs of service users
• Support service users with their medication requirements
• Act as a key point for contact with service users, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated
• Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service
