Summary

FM Conway is seeking a Yard Operative to join our dedicated Water and Drainage Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the yard area of the waste treatment plant, supporting safe and efficient operations through general cleaning duties. This is a part-time, permanent position, working two days per week, based in Dartford, Kent.

The duties of the Yard Operative will include:

- Sweeping, washing down, and cleaning yard surfaces to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment

- Removing debris, litter, and waste from designated areas

- Assisting with the organisation and storage of equipment and materials within the yard

- Operating basic cleaning tools and equipment, including a pressure washer, broom, and shovel

- Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the correct use of PPE

- Promptly reporting any hazards, spills, or maintenance issues to the supervisor

- Supporting other site activities as required, ensuring full compliance with company standards

What skills and experience do you need?

The ideal candidate will have experience carrying out manual labour tasks, with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. A basic understanding of health and safety practices is essential to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. You will be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while maintaining a strong work ethic. Previous experience in yard work or industrial cleaning is advantageous but not essential.
