Summary

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust has embarked on an ambitious programme of works to upgrade or replace a number of its key,
legacy clinical and patient administration systems to provide improved business workflows resulting in a better patient healthcare experience.
These systems don’t exist in isolation but instead need to exchange data and expose functionality with one another.

We’re looking for a highly motivated, technically creative individual to join the Data Integration team to deliver integration solutions
between our clinical & administrative solutions. Working with key stakeholders within the IM&T department, the Trust and the wider healthcare community along with suppliers, the post holder will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate patient data to the right staff at the right time allowing them to make informed clinical judgements which will allow them to provide the best possible care for their patients.

As an integration developer for the One Digital programme reporting to the Enterprise Interoperability Architect, you will be a leading specialist responsible for data interface and messaging API development, configuration, testing and implementation activities supporting the delivery of our paperless hospital vision.

You will play a critical role, working on multiple projects simultaneously alongside business analysts, system suppliers and stakeholders from across the three hospital sites. Working closely with our teams of digital nurses and One Digital Programme leads, you will help to deliver tightly integrated best of breed solutions to the challenges of removing the reliance on paper for healthcare delivery.

You will transform solution designs and requirements specifications into robust solutions utilising our set of key systems around which we are building our hybrid electronic patient record. You will ensure best practice is followed in terms of development, configuration and testing lifecycles.

The work will entail the use of a range of technologies along an open, standards based approach. You will optimise and problem solve to refine and improve system configuration and data quality including back end systems integration via HL7 messaging and user facing interoperability via APIs and FHIR.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
