STANDARD COSTINGS PROJECT ACCOUNTANT – 3 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT
Location: Southbank, Middlesbrough
Contract: 3 Month Fixed Term to end of March.
We are seeking a commercially minded Financial Accountant to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment on a 3 Month fixed-term
basis. This is a hands-on project role with real impact, focused on strengthening product costing accuracy across a broad and
complex SKU base.
Working at the intersection of finance, operations and systems, you will play a key role in reviewing, enhancing and embedding
standard product costings, supporting better decision-making across the business.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for updating and improving standard product costings, including:
* Building a robust Excel-based costing model for approximately 300 SKUs, incorporating sensitivity analysis to assess key cost
drivers.
* Reviewing existing standard cost builds, identifying discrepancies between similar products and proposing practical,
commercially sound solutions.
* Partnering with site-based labour and raw material experts to investigate potential changes and validate assumptions.
* Collaborating with ERP and system specialists across multiple group locations to implement approved changes within site ERP
systems.
* Ensuring costing methodologies are clearly documented and understood by stakeholders.
ABOUT YOU
You will bring a strong analytical mindset and the confidence to work across teams and locations, with:
* Advanced Excel skills, including complex modelling and data analysis.
* Experience within manufacturing finance, ideally with exposure to product costing.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly and influence stakeholders at all
levels.
* Experience of Microsoft Navision (highly desirable).
* A finance qualification is beneficial but not essential – practical experience and problem-solving capability are equally
valued.
WHY JOIN?
This is an opportunity to work on a clearly defined, high-impact finance project within a collaborative and technically
interesting environment. You’ll gain exposure to manufacturing operations, systems and senior stakeholders while delivering
tangible improvements that will endure beyond the contract.
Within a group of our size, there are also ample opportunities for further roles or permanent placements.
Immediate start available in January.
