About the Role
Prospero Teaching is looking for a compassionate and dedicated tutor with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Trafford. You will deliver one-to-one sessions in core subjects, specifically GCSE Maths and English, to students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and other complex learning needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on learners who require tailored support to thrive academically.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver one-to-one tutoring sessions in GCSE Maths and English, tailored to individual SEN learning profiles.

Adapt lesson content, pace, and teaching strategies to suit various learning styles and support emotional regulation.

Build a positive, trusting relationship with students to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to parents, carers, or professionals involved in the student's education.

Support the development of subject knowledge, study skills, and exam confidence, ensuring students feel motivated and confident in their abilities.

Essential Requirements

Minimum of 1 years experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English.

Experience working with learners with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH) in a one-to-one or small group setting.

Right to work in the UK.

Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Ability to work independently and adapt to a flexible schedule.

Desirable Qualifications

PGCE in Secondary Education and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.

Knowledge of strategies to support emotional and behavioural challenges in learning.

Additional Information

Sessions are generally held during school hours, but there may be opportunities for occasional after-school or evening sessions depending on student availability.
