Summary
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Technical Support Officer with specialist expertise in radio devices to join our IT Directorate. This is a key technical role providing expert support, development, and analysis across our radio infrastructure and associated technologies.
You’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and ongoing support of IT services and devices, ensuring they meet agreed performance and ITIL standards. Your work will directly contribute to the stability, availability, and security of our critical communications systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support and development for radio devices and infrastructure
Install, configure, and maintain radio systems to agreed standards
Diagnose and resolve faults, implement upgrades and patches
Monitor performance and proactively prevent service issues
Contribute to the development of technical standards and documentation
Liaise with third-party suppliers and provide expert guidance
Support technical projects and deliver solutions aligned with strategic goals
Share knowledge and create documentation for re-use across the IT Directorate
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices
Recommend and implement service improvements and risk mitigation strategies
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in supporting and developing radio communication systems
Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and device management
Familiarity with ITIL processes and service delivery standards
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage performance outcomes
Strong communication and consultation skills
