Summary
As part of the resuscitation team, provide evidence based specialist advice, support and in-depth procedural/policy knowledge relating to resuscitation issues to all Trust staff and the wider health community including patients and relatives. The post holder is required to carry a cardiac arrest bleep and attend patients in peri-arrest and arrest situations Provide resuscitation expertise during attendance at cardiorespiratory arrests and medical emergencies, following appropriate training. This will required sudden explosive effort when running to emergency calls. The post holder will have direct exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances on a frequent basis including exposure to adult and paediatric resuscitation situations and to patients who have died Following training and when appropriate, to act as part of the resuscitation team providing advanced life support skills such as intravenous/intraosseous cannulation, ECG interpretation, defibrillation, administration of emergency drugs and to act as Team Leader where necessary Provide support to staff, relatives and others who may be upset during exposure to emotional situations in relation to cardiac arrest and deceased patients To provide training in adult, paediatric, maternal and new-born basic, intermediate and advanced life support in accordance with Resuscitation Council guidelines. The post holder is required to provide both demonstration and actual use of resuscitation equipment To train staff in the use of resuscitation equipment as appropriate to their role Support the provision, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the resuscitation service for all patients and staff Please see the attached job description for full details.
