Summary
Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time experienced, Resident Director to work on the London production of STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW.
Written by Kate Trefry, an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne and Kate Trefry, directed by Stephen Daldry, co-directed by Justin Martin for the Phoenix Theatre and produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions – running in the West End since November 2023.
Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Resident Director on a first-class West End production.
The Resident Director will work with the Directors in delivering the creative vision of the production, as well as providing administrative support. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to leading on any ad hoc rehearsals, show watching an understudy’s first performance on stage; casting and rehearsing new children for the production as required; watching and noting the show at least twice per week; attending conferences, discussions, auditions, rehearsals and dress rehearsals as required by TPL on reasonable notice; attending and facilitating post-show question and answer sessions in the absence of the Director and any other tasks that the Producer or the Director may reasonably request.
You will provide a strong support to the Director, liaising between many different departments, so it is important you have good communication skills.

Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Tuesday to Sunday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and ad hoc rehearsal calls.
