Summary

SEN Teacher Required – PMLD Specialist School, Ware

TLTP are recruiting for an experienced PMLD Teacher to join a highly specialist school in Ware, supporting learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, complex medical needs and significant sensory needs. The school provides education for children and young people aged 2–19, offering a nurturing, multi-disciplinary environment tailored to pupils with the highest levels of need.

This role involves planning and delivering highly personalised, sensory-based and meaningful learning experiences, designed around each pupil’s cognitive, communication and physical profile. You will work closely with therapists and medical professionals to embed therapeutic strategies into daily routines and ensure your classroom is responsive to pupils’ physical, sensory and emotional regulation needs.

You will use a range of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies—including eye-gaze, switch technology, tactile cues, objects of reference and other low- and high-tech communication systems—to support pupils’ ability to communicate and engage. Building strong, trusting relationships with families and maintaining high-quality home-school communication is essential.

You will also play a key role in annual reviews and contribute effectively to the EHCP process, ensuring every child’s provision remains ambitious, consistent, and truly individualised.

As a result of this approach, pupils flourish; they develop confidence, engagement, communication awareness, physical skills and a growing curiosity about the world around them.
