Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality, professional, proactive business support across the organisation, enabling services to meet statutory and operational requirements. The role specifically supports the Digital Records Programme (DRP), ensuring accurate record baselines, data quality, and preparation for the digitisation of historic records. The postholder will work flexibly, maintain accurate information systems, and contribute to continuous service improvement in line with Lambeth’s values and working practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive business support, including mailbox management, data processing, meeting organisation, note-taking, and general administrative duties.

Maintain and update IT systems, databases, and records to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.

Support the Digital Records Programme by managing record baselines and preparing historic records for digitisation.

Work flexibly across the service, managing a reactive workload, supporting project objectives, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and systems.

Build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, maintain confidentiality, and ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and the council’s equality and customer-focused standards.

Skills and Qualifications Needed:
Ability to deliver efficient, effective administrative and business support.

Strong IT skills with excellent use of systems, databases, and software packages.

High-level word-processing skills; able to draft routine correspondence.

Excellent literacy and numeracy.

Ability to understand others’ deadlines and work accordingly.

Able to communicate diplomatically, professionally, and confidentially with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to work independently, using initiative and problem-solving skills to deliver customer-focused support.

Ability to identify process improvements and share recommendations with the wider team.

Resilience when working with sensitive or challenging information.
Qualifications

Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience:

Experience operating office systems efficiently.

Experience communicating effectively with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.

Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Other Requirements:

Ability to show flexibility, adaptability, and initiative.

Ability to travel across Lambeth sites when required.
