Your new school

Lift Hazelwood is part of Lift Schools, a MAT of 59 schools which allows you access to the best training programmes available as well as more internal opportunities. Lift Hazelwood is a one-form entry primary school with an attached nursery, situated in West Swindon, located just off J16 of the M4. There are currently just over 200 pupils on roll and pupils benefit from a modern, purpose built school building with extensive grounds. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Teaching Assistant.

Your new role
The role of the HLTA is to work in partnership with teachers to improve the learning and attainment of students while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. The role provides support to students so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement. This role will focus on supporting our upper KS2. In addition to the responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant, an HLTA will have a greater influence on students' education through their ability to cover lessons, support teachers through help with planning and leading parts of lessons, and where applicable, line manage TAs.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a L3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent or willingness to work towards this qualification. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, a reflective practitioner, aware of personal strengths and areas for development. You will also be resilient when faced with challenging situations and able to manage these professionally and have patience in interactions with a variety of students and situations, with a calm demeanour.
