TD Recruitment are currently looking for a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer to work for our client at a busy waste management and recycling facility in Musselburgh, EH21.
You’ll play a key role in keeping plant machinery running safely and efficiently, carrying out both preventative maintenance and urgent repair work during night operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of plant equipment;
Respond to machinery breakdowns quickly and effectively;
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults;
Carry out repairs on conveyors, balers, shredders, compactors, hydraulic systems, and other site machinery;
Update maintenance logs and complete job sheets accurately;
Work closely with the operations and engineering teams to minimize downtime;
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer;
Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering;
Experience working in heavy industry, manufacturing, recycling, or waste environments (preferred);
Ability to work independently during night shift operations;
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance;
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
