Summary
Provide operational leadership for ward-based pharmacy services across UHCW NHS Trust, ensuring delivery of safe and effective medicines management. Line manage the Medicines Management Technician team and the Omnicell Team, supporting recruitment, training, supervision and retention. Ensure robust scheduling and deployment of technical staff to meet daily operational and clinical demands across inpatient areas. Monitor service performance and compliance with key governance standards (MHRA, GPhC, CQC, GDP), identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. Lead audits and produce regular reports on stock use, waste, Omnicell performance, and technician-led activities. Collaborate with the Dispensary & Stores Operational Manager and other senior colleagues to reduce variation and improve service efficiency. Support the management of incidents, complaints and change control processes in accordance with Trust policies. Contribute to the design and delivery of education, competency assessments, and workforce development activities. Maintain Accredited Accuracy Checking Technician (AACT) status and support checking and clinical tasks as required.
