Summary
Neway International are seeking a Social Care Assessor – Social Care Non-Qualified to join our client Liverpool City Council.
Location: 1, Unicorn Road, Liverpool, Merseyside, L11 4TE
Hours: 35 per week
Start Date: 10 November 2025
Duration: Initially for a 3 month contract that is likely to be extended.
Pay Rates: PAYE £19.40 per hour / Limited/Umbrella £25.38 per hour

Their Adult Social Care & Health Operations team ensures individuals receive the right care packages and assessments to promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Social Care Assessor, you will play a vital role in supporting the Council’s Adult Social Care services. This is a non-qualified position at Grade 6, designed to provide essential frontline support in completing assessments, covering duty, and reviewing care packages. You will work closely with service users, families, and professionals to ensure needs are identified and addressed in line with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Complete needs assessments under the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
Cover duty functions, responding to urgent referrals and enquiries.
Review existing packages of care to ensure they remain appropriate and effective.
Liaise with service users, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver person-centred outcomes.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with Council policies.
Uphold safeguarding standards and promote independence and wellbeing.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications/Knowledge
Good general education (GCSEs or equivalent).
Knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.
Understanding of adult social care processes and service delivery.
Essential Experience
Experience of completing assessments and reviews in a social care setting.
Proven ability to work with vulnerable adults and their families.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage caseloads and respond to duty requirements.
Desirable Experience
Previous work within a local authority or statutory social care environment.
Experience of multi-agency working.
Essential Skills
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and oral communication.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
ICT proficiency for case recording and reporting.
